Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Our Ski and snowboard school Sport am Jet, with it's sport shop INTERSPORT SPORT AM JET, is located opposite the gondola station "Achter Jet" in Flachau.

In Flachau there are three runs to the bottom and we are situated exactly in the middle of them all, at the yellow Achter Jet gondola station by the flodlit slope. The only Flachau ski school with "BOBO" the penguin on the roof!

On the A10 motorway you take the Flachau exit, at the roundabout, take the third exit in the direction of the town center and after about 800 meters turn right at the traffic lights towards the Achter Jet. Then just stop when you spot BOBO the penguin!

The Ski course and Snowboard course always begin at 10 am, except for the 2 hours afternoon courses, these begin at 1pm.

A Private course starts either at 09 am until 11 am or from 11 am until 1 pm or from 1pm until 3pm is possible.

For the kids, lunchtime supervision is provided from approx. 12-1pm. All the children receive a yellow food voucher when they are registered for the course, this is to be given to the ski hut by the ski instructor.

The voucher costs € 18,00 and includes:

• Supervision
• Food
• Drink

All you can eat - In most of the huts the children will usually get a smaller portion, because they are not always able to eat it all. A second helping is most of the times possible!

Kids ski course lasts from 10am to 12pm and from 1pm to 3pm.
Adult ski course lasts from 10am to 12pm and from 1pm to 3pm.
Adult advanced ski course lasts from 10:00am to 12:30pm.

The meeting point is up the top at our practice area directly opposite the top gondola station of the Achterjet (by the big BOBO penguin).

Of course you can bring your child to us in the ski school office - latest at 9.20am. A ski instructor then takes the children up in the gondola everyday and then brings the children back down again at about 3.20pm.

For children ski courses, max. 12 (legally allowed). In the holiday times, there are usually between 8 and 12 in a group, in the off-peak times there are often less. For the children, it is more fun, if there are more children in the group.

For children who are taking part in the Ski & play lessons, no lift card is required, they can travel in the gondola to the top with the parents free of charge. The children can also use the Magic carpet free of charge.

For children up to the age of 6, the ski equipment is included free of charge in the course! 

For children up to the age of 5, who can already ski on blue slopes, they will need a Mini-Card. This card is for free and is valid for every lift on the mountain. 

We also have Dutch ski instructors. Especially in February, when we have a lot of Dutch guests, we do have enough Dutch ski instructors available.

There are very rarely mixed groups, but it can happen if there is no other possibility, for example 5 German speaking children and 5 Dutch speaking children. However, from past experience, this seems to work well.

We give lessons at any time in the following languages:

The ski area in Flachau is very big with wide slopes and is suitable for beginners.
Flachau is absolutely safe from avalanches!

Monday and Wednesday: Bobo’s kids dance and boogie
Monday to Thursday - Animals of the winter forest - Bobo comes to visit the children during the week
Thursday is BOBO’s final race and award ceremony at the Jagdhof.

On Thursday a BOBO - RACE is held. The Start is at approx. 10.30am.

The prize giving ceremony is at 4.30pm in the Jagdhof. All children receive a medal, a certificate, a Bobo-degree and for the winners there is also a trophy.

There is the possibility to book a ski course and snowboard course, the equipment (for adults and children), but also the lift passes online.

For this there is a 5% early booking bonus on the course and a 10% combi discount on the ski equipment.
